This shoot had been on our minds for a while. One of those ideas that keeps coming back until you finally say, okay, let’s do it properly. When the plan started to take shape, one thing became clear very quickly: the location had to be special.

So we picked up the Mini Cooper Countryman straight from the airport — honestly the perfect move. Rentals nearby were surprisingly hard to find, and starting the journey right after landing already felt like part of the story. From there, it was all about exploring.

After some searching (and a bit of optimism), we discovered an incredible spot right next to a lake, surrounded by untouched South African nature. The kind of place that makes you stop talking for a moment. Getting close to the water wasn’t easy at all — access was limited, paths were unclear — but luck was on our side. We met someone who trusted us enough to let us in, and suddenly the whole landscape opened up.
